Plan a day to visit up close and personal with many area farmers in the business of raising fiber bearing animals. This is your opportunity to ask questions of successful farm owners, attend educational seminars, and experience firsthand the animals, the fiber and the finished products. Whether you are interested in raising your own fiber stock, acquiring raw fiber or yarn for your projects or buying unique handcrafted goods, you will find it all at the fair. Demonstrations of fiber arts, kids hands on projects, animal exhibits, and lots more are available to explore. A Silent Auction of items from farm supplies, memberships to organizations, books on fiber arts, natural yarns, soaps, knitting supplies, to beautiful sweaters hand crafted from the natural yarns are available to bid on. AAFF's mission is to help provide support to student education in textile/fashion design projects. All proceeds from the silent auction and/or raffles go to student sponsorships of the AOBA Fiber to Fashion Student Design Contest or other design projects.
Raising fiber animals for their wool is a fun and rewarding lifestyle. Some farms specialize in only one type of fiber animal, other farms may have a combination of animals.
